Fabien Duveau

Fabien Duveau is an eighth-generation winemaker in Saumur-Champigny who took over the domaine from his father in 2008. His work is based on the two main grapes of Saumur: Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Duveau's wines are tied to specific lieux-dits – precise sites around Chacé, Varrains, Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg and Brézé.

Producer story

Fabien has converted the domaine to organic farming, and it has held Demeter biodynamic certification since late 2023. His work centres on living soils, natural yeasts, tuffeau, clay-limestone, sand and flint-chalk, and a wish to let each site speak its own language.

In style, Fabien Duveau's wines are energetic, precise and made for food. The white Chenins are not just fresh but carry texture, depth and mineral tension. The Cabernet Francs are fresh, juicy and peppery, leaning towards transparency rather than weight.
